Make Music Madison

Henry Alanna

Henry Alanna (they/he) would describe their musical style as "music to listen to while having a breakdown, a breakthrough, or when you just need a break". They describe themselves as an eclectic folk-punk goblin. Henry writes songs with an emphasis on lyrical intensity and intimate melodies to conjure a folk-punk, alternative, and indie sound. Recurring themes in Henry’s music include identity, memory, and the stories we choose to tell ourselves when things are scary. When performing on stage, Henry wants his crowds to feel like neighbors instead of strangers. He provides his audiences with a safe place to cradle the soft parts of themselves, because sometimes you can’t soothe the ache in your heart alone. His music isn’t always quiet, but neither are the children that still live in all of us. If you are someone who searches for joy in the tragic, tragedy in the silly, and delight in music full of internal truths and messy revelations, they think you'll both get along just fine.
